Song: O’ Children by Nick Cave
from Orpheus
Movement has healing powers. It can turn darkness into light, transition
stiffness into fluidity, calm a racing mind, or turn boredom into a party.
In preparation for tonight’s midnight release of
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, I watched Part 1 with some of my
besties. There is a completely endearing
scene about walk way through the movie where Harry Potter and Hermoine Granger
“dance their cares away.” Here they are,
in the midst of dark times and deep sorrows, yet their mini-movement break
brings with it waves of relief and smiles of rejuvenation. One can’t help but feel warmed by the
exchange of motion.
It got me (and my besties) thinking about the times
when movement has been the driving force to help a character get through their
troubles. (Of course, now I am remiss to
think of another one.)
