Creative Combos - YWCA - 02/02/2012


This fun combination was created by students in class on February 2, 2012 (YWCA).  We began with each student drawing a movement from a basket.  Then students were paired up to create a short combo using each move.  Finally, all combos were strung together to create the following choreography.

Start with weight evenly distributed; facing audience; Rounded Framing Hips (arms).

Combo A

1-4:   Rounded Framing Hips (arms).  Double Rock (forward on the R foot) to the front left corner.
5-8:   1/2 Turn to the left to face back wall while continuing Double Rock.
1-4:   Temple Overhead (arms) with Twisty Shimmy.
5-8:   Rounded Framing Hips (arms).  Double Rock (forward on the R foot) to the back left corner.
5-8:   1/2 Turn to the left to face audience while continuing Double Rock.
1-4:   Reverse Temple at Ribs (arms) with Twisty Shimmy.


Combo B

1-4:   Double Rock (forward on R foot) with slight body twist with sassy arms (push R arm forward with left arm at ribs when rocking forward, change push L arm forward with R arm coming back to ribs as rocking back on foot).
5-8:   Continue Double Rock with slight body twist and sassy arms.
1-4:   Rib Slide R-L-R-L.  “T” Arms.
5-8:   Large hip circle (R-back-L-front) with heel drops.

1-4:   Rounded Framing Hips (arms).  Roll shoulders: R front, L front, R back, L back.
5-8:   Rib Slide R-L-R-L.
1-4:   Shoulder Punch: R front-front, L front-front.
5-8:   Shoulder Punch: R back-back, L back-back.
