Instructional Combos #2 - Fall 2007


This combination was created for students (likely in fall 2007) to teach new movements to some of my very first groups of students.  It was created under the time I was using Ikiwiki as my dance name.  It was also prior to the standardized format now used with The Bellydance Dictionary.  I’m adding it to the blog for historical purposes and possible reintegration.


Part A
Right hip drop-drop-drop, step back
Left hip drop-drop-drop, step back
Right hip drop-drop-drop step back
Left hip drop-drop-drop, step back

Rib slide right-left-right-left
Rib rotate-rotate (counter-clockwise)

Right hip lift front-side-back, come center
Left hip lift front-side-back, come center


Part B
Walking hip bumps right-left-3-4-5-6-7-8

Rib lift front-front-right-left

Walking hip circle (clockwise) right-together-right-touch
Walking hip circle (counter-clockwise) left-together-left-touch

Right hip bicycle 2-3-4-5-6-7-8 (hit front down on even numbers)
Left hip bicycle 2-3-4-5-6-7-8 (hit front down on even numbers)

Hip shimmy (up-down) 2-3-4-5-6-7-8


Part C
Egyptian basic traveling back (8 counts)
            1-2  Right hip twist forward with lift                     3-4  Left hip twist forward with lift
            5-6  Right hip twist forward with lift                     7-8  Left hip twist forward with lift

Corner bumps counter-clockwise (8 counts)
