Song: Boys (3:26) by Britney
Spears from Britney
Sometimes a song and a movement synch and it’s
beyond your control. As I attempted to
plan for this week’s new bellydance session, I found myself stuff for fun new
choreography. My body is craving sensual
movement with a bit of a funk. Perhaps
the best way to describe it is bellydance meets pole dance meets hip hop. Obviously my students are hoping to bellydance
so I bribe my body with a little bit of a compromise. We’ll sass up a new class routine and set it
to one of my favorite artists (pre marriages and psychotic breakdowns - for
her, not me).
I began by choreographing some simply movements and
then searching through my iPod for something that went with the feel of the
motion. After a bit of listening, Boys
just seemed to naturally synch.

To be continued for class…
And I should note, when my body was tired of
playing with choreography, it just sashayed itself over to my shiny new dance
partner and went to work. ;o)
